Bill Walton hangs up the microphone
Bill Walton has left ESPN because of long-standing back problems. The basketball star, who turns 57 Thursday, joined the network in 2002 and had been on its NBA Shootaround. Next stop: Speaking engagements and charitable endeavors, according to his agent, Sharon Chang. "It is time to dedicate the rest of my life to service," Walton said in a statement.
